Follow the winding tree lined roads of the Sabine Hills and you’re bound to come across a ruined castle, a medieval village where it seems time has stood still, a quiet lake or the perfect picnic spot.
You’ll almost certainly come across somewhere selling the famous local olive oil, cheese or organic fruit. You’ll probably want to stop for a freshly made gelato somewhere, at which point you’ll be spoiled for choice.
Stop the car and stretch your legs in a nature reserve or a forest, or wander the streets of a medieval village where cars can’t enter. Get home in time for sunset on the porch – congratulations, you’ve spent a day in the Sabina!
